  Online Certificate in Public Performance Measurement
Description

The National Center for Public Performance offers a web-based proficiency development opportunity for managers at the municipal, state and federal levels and the non-profit sector. Online classes offer registrants current research and trends, practical management strategies, best practices, and case studies to support implementation of citizen-driven performance measurement. Competencies gained by enrolling in the Public Performance Measurement online classes include strategies to plan and develop a performance measurement system, methods for conducting citizen surveys and other mechanisms for citizen involvement, as well as data analysis and performance reporting techniques.

100: Citizen-Driven Performance Improvement: An Introduction
200: Strategic Planning & Performance Based Budgeting
300: Citizen Engagement in Government
400: Citizen Surveys & Data Presentation
500: Governmental Transparency and E-Governance

Class activities include interactions with National Center faculty and instructors, as well as practitioners at various levels of government agencies nationwide. Weekly discussion boards create a virtual community of colleagues that discuss and share information about performance measurement techniques and mechanisms to support citizen participation. Constructive assignments are geared toward improving management techniques and processes as public managers navigate a complex web of performance and accountability demands. Completion of the program requirements results in a certificate in Public Performance Measurement that is issued by the National Center for Public Performance.
