With 25 years of experience in executive-level public administration education, the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at Rutgers University-Newark has developed the Global Executive Online Master of Public Administration (GEO•MPA). As the first completely online, executive international graduate degree, the GEO•MPA program consists of 30 credits of coursework which address the contexts and applications of public policy implementation. The two-year GEO•MPA executive master’s program is offered online simultaneously to executive-level student groups in New Jersey and regions around the world.

Core faculty members of SPAA  administer the courses by utilizing innovative, technology-centered instructional techniques, and ongoing student mentorship will be delivered by advisors located within each region. This international MPA degree program instills in students the critical capacities for global strategic problem-solving and analytical assessment, while honing the cross-cultural leadership and technical skills necessary to meet the growing challenges of 21st century public and nonprofit leaders.

  • Admissions requirements
    • 7+ years’ managerial experience in public or nonprofit sectors
    • Detailed resume
    • 3.0 GPA from prior degree at post-secondary institution (or GRE scores)
    • Official transcript from each post-secondary institution attended (bachelor’s degree from recognized institution required)
    • Three letters of recommendation (at least one from current employer or supervisor)
    • International students: minimum TOEFL score of 90 or IELTS score of 6.5

  • Program tuition, fees, and all course materials total approximately $40,000, but employers often provide financial support 

  • Build worldwide network of experienced colleagues and professionals
    • Upon graduation, students earn membership in the School of Public Affairs and Administration Alumni Network (SPAAAN), with access to professional development, mentoring, and community engagement activities
