The Rutgers SPAA MPA program, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA), is an interdisciplinary and inter-institutional program of professional training. It is geared for those working in or preparing for careers in the public and non-profit sectors, or the intersection of the public and private sectors. The MPA program provides students with basic competencies in the context of a broad understanding of the field. Attending part time, students can earn their degrees in about three years. Full-time students can complete the program in two years or less. Recent MPA graduates have found placements as: Chief Administrative Officer for the Tax Court of New Jersey, Township Managerfor New Jersey Municipalities, Police Chief of Newark and Senior Legislative Analyst for the New Jersey League of Municipalities.
