Undergraduate Public Service Program Internships

Overview of Courses

“The future is not fixed, it’s fluid…it’s waiting for you to hammer it into shape. That’s what this degree of yours is, a blunt instrument. So go forth and build something with it. You are the generation.” Bono, 2006

The program in Public Service at Rutgers University, Campus at Newark, promotes civic engagement, strengthens teaching and learning, and builds collaborative partnerships through public service, service-learning, and community-based research.  As part of the core requirements for the program, each student will go out into the field, giving their time to benefit others in the form of two supervised, structured service learning/internship courses within the community.
