A Canadian citizen, she has over 12 years of experience working in the public and nonprofit sector both in Canada and the United States. She holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree from the University of Ottawa ('93), a Master of Arts Degree in Canadian Studies from Trent University ('97) and then relocated to the United States where she worked at the county government level and the cultural and heritage nonprofit sector. She then completed a Master of Science Degree in Communications Management from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University (2005) and then began her doctoral degree full-time.

The University at Albany’s Center for Technology in Government (CTG) selected four groups of international researchers to receive funding to advance digital government research on issues that cross national boundaries. U.S. participation in the groups will be supported by $280,000 over the next three years, made possible through a $1 million grant to CTG from the National Science Foundation’s Digital Research Program.
