- Alan Shark holds a doctorate in Public Administration from the University of Southern California’s
Washington Public Policy Center, and an MPA from Baruch College.
- He recently joined SPAA as an
Assistant Professor of Public Affairs and Administration (half-time).
- He also serves as the Public
Technology Institute’s Executive Director/CEO. His career has spanned over 25 years as a highly recognized
leader in both the nonprofit management and technology fields, with an emphasis on technology
applications for business and government. His most recent book is Beyond e-Government &
e-Democracy: A Global Perspective, and he is currently working on 7 Trends that Will Transform Local
Government through Technology and CIO Leadership for Cities & Counties: Emerging Trends & Practices.
- Dr. Shark is a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA).
