Currently, the federal government is weighing in on rights and protections for LGBTQ individuals in the workplace, creating fear, speculation, and uncertainty regarding their civil rights and protection from discrimination. 

On Thursday, November 2, at 12 p.m., SPAA is hosting a roundtable addressing many of the questions that you may have regarding the climate for LGBTQ individuals in the workplace.

Stephanie Newbold, Associate Professor – Discussing legal aspects of LGBTQ treatment in the workplace

Yoleidy Rosario, Director of the LGBTQ and Intercultural Resource Center at Rutgers University-Newark – Discussing the history and context of being LGBT in office settings

Annie Virkus, Associate Dean for Academic and Student Services – Discussing signs that LGBTQ students should look for when applying for jobs

Kareem Willis, SPAA PhD candidate – Discussing the personal perspective of being LGBTQ in the workplace
