Kristi Donaldson, PhD named NCLC-SPAA Post-Doctoral Associate in Education Research and Policy

On June 1, Dr. Kristi Donaldson will join the Newark City of Learning Collaborative (NCLC) and the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) as a Post-Doctoral Associate in Education Research and Policy. Donaldson received her PhD in Sociology with a graduate minor in Gender Studies from the University of Notre Dame in May. Donaldson’s dissertation is titled “The Implementation of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program: Equity, Access, and Effectively Maintained Inequality.”

During her first year, Donaldson will work primarily with the NCLC. Housed at the Rutgers University-Newark Cornwall Center, NCLC is a network of citywide stakeholders that works to increase Newark residents’ opportunities to attain post-secondary degrees and credentials. Donaldson will support NCLC’s development of a data management infrastructure to enable the network to collect, analyze, and present data on Newark’s post-secondary attainment progress. Donaldson will also teach a course at SPAA during the second year of her Associateship. Donaldson will be supervised by NCLC Director and Assistant Professor Reginald Lewis, and Professors Alan Sadovnik and Jeffrey Backstrand.
