New Jersey has a new premiere entertainment destination in Newark with the new CityPlex12 theatre; a first-run, all-Digital, stadium seating, 3D-capable movie theatre in New Jersey’s largest City.  Co-owned by Boraie Development, LLC and Newark native and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, the new CityPlex12 theatre is on the site of the former 6-screen Loews Newark Metroplex and Newark Screens Theatre.The theatre’s premiere auditorium is the SHAQ-DX, “A bigger than life Digital-Xperience.” This 300-seat stadium-style auditorium features luxurious high-back leather rockers, Dolby 7.1 audio, RealD-3D and a 47 foot-wide screen.

Newark Symphony Hall enjoys a long and rich cultural history as New Jersey’s oldest and largest showcase for the arts, education and entertainment programming. This multi-facility edifice was built by the Shriners, a Masonic order, in 1925 and known as the Salaam Temple. Throughout the season, Newark Symphony Hall looks forward to producing the best in the performing arts. The Hall welcomes you and thanks you for your continued patronage. Prudential Center

Prudential Center is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the central business district of Newark, New Jersey, United States. It was designed by HOK Sport with the exterior designed by Morris Adjmi Architects. Opened in 2007, it is the home of the National Hockey League's (NHL) New Jersey Devils and the NCAA's Seton Hall Pirates men's basketball team. The Prudential Center has played an important role in the revitalization of downtown Newark.

The Rutgers-NJIT Theatre Program

The Rutgers-NJIT Theatre Program has been a combined program since 1993. Students at both schools are provided with solid theatre training in either a liberal arts or technological course of study. The program produces traditional and performing arts pieces develped from curtural stories from the Newark area. Rutgers-NJIT Theatre Arts Program is a cross-over theatre program between the schools. Two theatres, faculty, staff, and construction areas are shared.
