Rutgers SPAA Secures Top Spots in NJ, Metro NY/NJ, Northeast, and Nationwide in U.S. News 2023 Public Affairs Rankings
School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University–Newark ranks #1 in New Jersey; #1 in Metro NY/NJ Area; #2 in the Tri-State Area; and #2 in the Northeast for public affairs among public institutions

The School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at Rutgers University–Newark continues to be recognized among the nation’s outstanding higher education institutions for public affairs and administration, ranking #29 out of nearly 300 schools surveyed in the U.S. in the just-released U.S. News & World Report’s 2023 Best Public Affairs Programs.
In specialty areas, SPAA was nationally ranked #7 in Urban Policy; #13 in public management and leadership; #15 in nonprofit management; #16 in public finance and budgeting; and #20 in Local Government Management.

The School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University–Newark educates and motivates students to choose careers in public service and administration through its innovative and comprehensive degrees and certificate programs. Rutgers SPAA’s faculty generates knowledge and best practices in public affairs and administration, and collaborates with public and nonprofit organizations and professionals throughout the U.S. and the world.
Prospective students can enroll in undergraduate or graduate programs at SPAA: Bachelor of Arts in Public and Nonprofit Management; Master of Public Administration (MPA); Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA); and the PhD in Public Administration.
