Michael McCarty, MPA'25

Michael McCarty (MPA'25) is an experienced public servant with over 12 years in governmental public health. Prior to graduating from the Rutgers School of Public Affairs for Public Administration, he attended Rutgers for undergraduate studies and the Naval Postgraduate School. In his current role as Deputy Director of the Somerset County Department of Health, he has demonstrated democratic leadership, budget oversight, grant writing and evaluation, and human resource management. In his work, he has learned that government’s greatest asset is its workforce. Professionally, he is looking forward to continue to grow as a leader, and is currently enrolled in SPAA's Certified Public Manager program. He, his wife Kim, and their dog Moose, are recent transplants to Monmouth County and are looking forward to putting down roots in their community.
