Diane Hill Celebrated with Vizion Foundation Community Award
Dr. Diane Hill, assistant professor of professional practice at the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA), was celebrated at The Vizion Foundation's annual awards gala and was presented with the organization's Community Award which honors individuals whose remarkable accomplishments and life’s work have made a profound impact in their communities.
The Vizion Foundation, founded in 2020, provides the community with services and programming that helps position individuals towards self-sufficiency and sustainability. The foundation notes, "These phenomenal individuals unselfishly give of their time and talents while exemplifying excellence in their actions and leadership and make significant contributions to their respective church, community, marketplace, government, and career."
Dr. Hill's research interests include advancing community engagement in higher education, with special emphasis on university-community partnerships in urban universities, school-based youth college and career development and engagement demonstration models, and community-based participatory research. At Rutgers SPAA, Dr. Hill teaches courses that help with "Building Bridges to the Community." She is also co-director of the Center for Health Equity and Community Engagement (CHECE). In addition, she is assistant chancellor for the Office of University-Community Partnerships (OUCP) at Rutgers University–Newark.
