Dr. Briana Huett Joins Rutgers SPAA Faculty as Assistant Professor of Professional Practice

Dr. Briana Huett has joined the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at Rutgers University–Newark as an assistant professor of professional practice and the director of community engagement starting in Fall 2024. Prior to joining the Rutgers faculty, she was the associate director of the Center for Outreach & Engagement at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT.

Her professional goals are to connect academic teaching and research with community knowledge and expertise to improve access to – and equitable practices within – public services.

Dr. Huett received her PhD in public policy with a specialization in public management in from the University of Arkansas in Spring 2022 while working on a master’s in statistics and analytics. Her dissertation focused on understanding the factors that determine and affect individuals’ perceptions of social welfare and social justice policy issues, with the goal of understanding how communication barriers surrounding these topics can be overcome to generate forward-thinking policy action.
