Summary of Responsibilities: As the development coordinator at NFSB, I oversaw fundraising efforts, including sponsorships, events, planned giving, and individual donations. I managed a communication plan, social media presence, and donor documentation. I supported the executive director and board development committee, handled mailings, planned events, created marketing campaigns, and built media relationships to enhance the brand and develop new business opportunities. 

Favorite Aspect of Internship: My favorite aspect of the internship was engaging directly with the community through fundraising events and initiatives. I enjoyed developing creative campaigns and witnessing their impact from start to finish. Building relationships with donors, volunteers, and partners was rewarding, and collaborating with a passionate team made the experience truly fulfilling. 

Career Goals: My career goal is to become a leading development professional in the nonprofit sector, specializing in strategic fundraising and communications. I aim to use my skills in donor relations, event planning, and social media to drive impactful campaigns and support organizational missions.  

How has SPAA helped you navigate your internship responsibilities? What kind of skills did you learn during this internship? 
SPAA helped me navigate my internship by providing essential skills in understanding nonprofit organizations, grant writing, and communication. 

During this internship, I learned and practiced using donor and donation management systems, which enhanced my skills in donor relations and data management. I gained experience in event planning, including coordinating logistics and promoting events. Collaborating with various departments and board members provided insight into effective teamwork and strategic planning. Additionally, I honed my communication skills and developed a deeper understanding of managing donor relationships, which are crucial for successful fundraising and organizational growth.
