The Rutgers Center for Nonprofit Leadership and Development (CNLD) is proud to announce that its director, Dr. Lindsey M. McDougle, has been elected chair of the Nonprofit Management Education Section of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA).
NASPAA is the leading global association of graduate programs in public policy, public affairs, and public administration. Its Nonprofit Management Education Section brings together faculty, researchers, and practitioners dedicated to advancing teaching, scholarship, and practice in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors.
As section chair, Dr. McDougle will play a central role in shaping national and international conversations about how universities prepare the next generation of nonprofit leaders. Her election reflects her long-standing contributions to nonprofit education, including her leadership at CNLD, her scholarship on philanthropy and participatory grantmaking, and her commitment to mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
“This position is an opportunity to strengthen nonprofit management education and ensure that our teaching reflects the realities facing today’s organizations and communities,” said Dr. McDougle.
Dr. McDougle, an associate professor in the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at Rutgers University–Newark, has been deeply engaged in NASPAA for many years, serving on committees, leading panels, and helping to build networks for nonprofit faculty. As chair, she plans to foster greater collaboration across institutions, support innovation in curriculum design, and create opportunities for emerging scholars and educators in the nonprofit field.
“My leadership role at NASPAA will allow CNLD to expand its reach and connect with colleagues across the globe who are advancing nonprofit education,” she said.
This election not only highlights Dr. McDougle’s individual leadership but also underscores CNLD’s growing influence in shaping the future of nonprofit management education.
