Message from Dean Charles Menifield: Fall 2020 Welcome

Dear SPAA Students:

The Fall 2020 semester has officially begun and I would like to welcome our new and returning students. I hope that you are just as excited as I am to start a new school year, albeit remote. A lot has transpired over the past six months that will forever change our lives, but I hope that these events shape who you are in a positive way. As students of public affairs and administration, we want you to be actively engaged in providing remedies for the diverse set of problems that we see today. We all have an ethical responsibility to do our utmost to assist those in need and to protect the rights and civil liberties of those around us. We are a community of leaders and we lead by example. All that you do, now and in the future, should reflect our values: competence, diversity, knowledge, service, and ethics. So, as you navigate your courses and day to day lives, always think about public service and how these values can be manifested in your life.

I wish you the very best during the school year. Please know that the SPAA Family is here to support you in any way that we can.

Sincerely,

Charles E. Menifield, PhD
