New BA Students Attend Fall 2024 Orientation

SPAA faculty and staff welcomed new BA students at the Fall 2024 Orientation on September 9. Dean Kaifeng Yang delivered opening remarks and the undergraduate advising team introduced themselves to the new students.

Drs. Michael Dillard, Lois Warner, and Weiwei Lin provided an overview of the undergraduate program, discussing curriculum, courses, requirements, and campus resources. Current BA students and BA alumni also spoke to the students.

Upcoming Fall 2024 events planned for undergraduate SPAA students were also noted. During the Fall semester, the BA program will host in-person and virtual sessions as a creative way to connect with BA students. Sessions will include workshops on careers in public and nonprofit administration, campus resources, and opportunities to connect with successful BA alumni. The BA program will also host an interactive session with the debate director in October, at which students will have the opportunity to learn about the debate program. Also in October, an Accelerated MPA program information session will be held to give BA students the opportunity to learn about the MPA program and all that it has to offer.
