SPAA Student Karen Perez Shares Her Story of 'From the Campus to the Capitol'

SPAA student Karen Perez was part of a group of Rutgers-Newark students who spent nine weeks over the summer interning in congressional offices in Washington, D.C. through a program created in partnership with the Sheila Y. Oliver Center for Politics and Race in America (CPRA) and Braven, a career accelerator for college students. At an event co-sponsored by the center and Rutgers SPAA, Perez and the other interns described learning firsthand how democracy works.
