Dr. Marilyn Rubin Appointed to Board of Trustees for NJ's Public Employees' Retirement System
Dr. Marilyn Rubin, distinguished research fellow in the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at at Rutgers University–Newark, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for NJ's Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) by NJ Governor Phil Murphy.
The board has the general responsibility for the operation of the PERS and meets monthly at the New Jersey Division of Pensions & Benefits (NJDPB) in Trenton. Responsibilities include rendering decisions on disability claims and appeals pertaining to the denial of certain pension benefits regarding disability retirement cases.
Dr. Rubin has more than 35 years of experience working as a consultant and advisor to high-level officials at all levels of government on projects related to fiscal policy, economic development, and strategic planning. She is an elected fellow in the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA).
