Rutgers SPAA's Master of Public Administration Program Reaccredited by NASPAA

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) offered by Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) has been reaccredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA), the global standard in public service education. NASPAA accreditation recognizes that a master’s degree program in public and nonprofit policy, affairs, or administration has undertaken a rigorous process of peer review conducted by the Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation (COPRA). Rutgers SPAA's program first received NASPAA accreditation in 1989, and has successfully received reaccreditation every seven years since.
NASPAA's standards form the quality benchmark used by graduate public service programs around the world to ensure programs serve their mission and their students. NASPAA accreditation strengthens the future of public service education by supporting program improvement, student learning outcomes, and requiring programs to demonstrate their contributions to advancing the knowledge, research, and practice of public service. At NASPAA-accredited programs, faculty members are expected to produce research and engage in activities in service to the mission of the program.
The reaccreditation process consisted of an initial self-study report, follow-up reports, a site visit, and final responses to the accreditation committee’s report. NASPAA’s COPRA committee reaccredited SPAA's program for seven years, the maximum duration allowed. COPRA formally announced all 2025 accreditation actions on July 11, 2025, via the release of the 2025 Action Statement. The 2025 Roster of Accredited Programs will be released on September 1, 2025.
