Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration was proud to co-host SELC 2026 with National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) and John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY).

The 2026 Social Equity Leadership Conference took place from May 28–30, 2026, at Rutgers-Newark, and marked its milestone 25th anniversary with a celebration reception. Co-hosted by Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA), John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY), and the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) Standing Panel on Social Equity in Governance, the theme was “Leading and Learning Toward a Future for All.” Six tracks focused on areas including public and nonprofit leadership, civil rights, higher education challenges, federal policy impacts, artificial intelligence and data evidence, and global human rights. Marilyn Rubin, distinguished research fellow at Rutgers SPAA, served as conference co-chair along with Jason Rivera, professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Held annually, SELC brings practitioners, scholars, public servants, policymakers and students together to advance social equity policies and initiatives.
