SPAA Ambassadors Accepting Nominations for 2022-2023 S.P.A.A. Awards; Ceremony on April 26

S.P.A.A. Awards Nominations

The School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) Student Ambassador Program will be hosting the second annual Service, Professional, Achievement Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 7 to 9 pm. This event will celebrate and honor Rutgers University–Newark current undergraduate and graduate students and SPAA alumni who have made significant impact within the RU-N and SPAA community. SPAA Ambassadors are now accepting nominations for the 2022-2023 S.P.A.A. Awards.

Nomination Process:

  • The application for nominations will close on April 14, 2023 at 11:59 pm.
  • The award committee will review each nomination and select a recipient based on the criteria listed. 
  • Award recipients will be notified by April 21, 2023, with the expectation of attendance at the ceremony on April 26, 2023.

Awarded to a student who is consistently doing significant work out of the public eye, with no request for recognition. Through their exemplary leadership, their work continues to serve the community at large. This individual finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.

Include:

  • Nominator’s name, title, and email address
  • Nominee’s name and email address
  • Nominee must be currently enrolled for Spring 2023 semester
  • Must be nominated by faculty or staff who in 200 words or less shares how the student has overcome challenges while being successful academically
  • The nominator must obtain consent from the nominee prior to submission
  • Open to all RU-N undergraduate and graduate students

Awarded to a student who embodies the values and mission of School of Public Affairs and Administration and has shown endless dedication to the Rutgers University–Newark community.

  • Nominee must be currently enrolled for Spring 2023 semester
  • An undergraduate or graduate student - no GPA requirement
  • Passionate about community service initiative
  • Nominators must submit a statement describing their community service initiative or commitment to the RU-N community in 200 words or less stating why this candidate should be chosen
  • Self-nominations welcomed
  • Open to all RU-N undergraduate and graduate students

Awarded to a SPAA alum who shows a promising future in their career field of choice using research, professional display, and/or academic success. The eligible nominee is an alum who has recently graduated within the last 1-3 years and has displayed great leadership and commitment within their profession.

  • Nominee’s name and academic program of completion (must be a SPAA graduate)
