AI Governance and Policy Certificate

The three-course (nine-credit) graduate AI Governance and Policy Certificate program offered by the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at Rutgers University–Newark provides students with a comprehensive, governance-centered understanding of AI and digital systems in public and nonprofit organizations. This concentrated area of study prepares students who are interested or working in the management of AI systems within complex organizations in the public and nonprofit sectors.

Students seeking the AI Governance and Policy Certificate complete the following three (3) SPAA graduate courses for a total of nine (9) credits:

After receiving the certificate, non-degree students can count certificate courses toward the completion of the MPA program.

To Apply

Non-degree seeking applicants for credit-bearing certificates may take courses simply by completing the online Graduate Application and selecting their desired certificate within the non-degree option.
