Budgeting and Financial Management Certificate

The three-course (nine-credit) graduate Budgeting and Financial Management Certificate program offered by the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at Rutgers University–Newark provides an opportunity for pre-career and in-career students to conduct graduate studies in the area of public budgeting and financial management. This concentrated area of study prepares students wishing to enter a public sector financial management position or those seeking upward mobility in this career track.

Students seeking the Budgeting and Financial Management Certificate complete three (3) courses for a total of nine (9) credits from the following SPAA graduate courses:

For SPAA course descriptions see Courses.
For course schedules, see Rutgers University Schedule of Classes.

*For students in the MPA program pursuing the Public Management track, Government Budgeting cannot be used toward the certificate.

After receiving the certificate, non-degree students can count certificate courses toward the completion of the MPA program.
