"Be the Light" Film Screening

The PSE&G True Diversity Film Series examines films that can evoke broad-thinking on issues of diversity and spur discussions on the importance of strengthening community ties. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in thought-provoking panel discussions with invited guests of varied fields, including academia, news media, and beyond.

The first film in the series is the documentary, Be the Light (Themes: Newark, Local community, healthcare, social activism). In Be the Light, multimedia icon, executive producer and host, Angie Martinez joins Rutgers University–Newark’s (RU-N) International Leadership Exchange (ILE) Global Scholars to document their journey to deploy We Share Solar suitcases in multi-purpose community centers and a cancer care center in Puerto Rico.

Admission is free! RSVP required as space is limited. Street parking is free after 6 p.m.
