On May 2, the Rutgers Center for Nonprofit Leadership and Development is hosting a TED-style talk titled Sustaining Creativity: Financial Management That Fuels Artistic Missions, featuring Dr. Cleopatra Charles, associate professor at Rutgers SPAA, who will be discussing her new co-authored book, Financial Leadership for the Arts.
Following her brief talk, Dr. Charles will be joined by Mary Jaffa, vice president of finance at NJPAC, for a dynamic conversation exploring how national trends in arts nonprofit finance apply locally in Newark. Together, they’ll discuss the unique challenges and opportunities arts organizations face when balancing creative vision with financial sustainability.
A reception with coffee, tea, and light refreshments follows for SPAA alumni and friends where we'll celebrate the 50th anniversary of our MPA program.
** A "business card raffle" will be held to give away two copies of Dr. Charles' book **
Free and open to the public | Doors open 5pm | Event will be recorded
