On the Job Market Fall 2024: SPAA PhD Candidate Tong Chen
Tong Chen's research interests lie in nonprofit management and public corruption and applying emerging technologies in public administration and academic research, such as data-driven management, fraud detection, and text analysis. His dissertation consists of three papers regarding public corruption in the United States. Within this project, he created a dataset based on the press release disclosed by the FBI and coded with AI tools. At the 2024 Public Management Research Conference, he presented "Public Corruption in the United States: Discovery from FBI Press Releases" with Yahong Zhang. He worked with Rutgers SPAA faculty on the "Advancing Health Literacy to Enhance Equitable Community Responses to COVID-19, Evaluation for City of Newark” project and its health assessment survey.
