Dr. Suzanne Piotrowski Receives 2024 Best Book Award from ASPA's Section on Public Administration Research
Dr. Suzanne Piotrowski, professor in the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at Rutgers University–Newark, has received the 2024 Best Book Award from the American Society for Public Administration's Section on Public Administration Research for her book, The Power of Partnership in Open Government: Reconsidering Multistakeholder Governance Reform, co-authored with Daniel Berliner and SPAA alum Alex Ingrams (PhD'17). The book presents the Open Government Partnership as an example of a successful transnational multistakeholder initiative that has impacted policy and helped to produce progressive public sector reform.
The Best Book Award from ASPA's Section of Public Administration Research (SPAR) evaluates criteria such as outstanding accomplishment of the research objectives, high-quality writing, and the potential to constitute a lasting contribution to public administration literature. Dr. Piotrowski will be presented with the award during ASPA's 2024 Annual Conference, which takes place April 12-16 in Minneapolis, MN.
At Rutgers SPAA, Dr. Piotrowski is also co-director of the school's MPA program and the director of the Transparency and Governance Center (TGC). She researches freedom of information, transparency, and open government issues with a strong focus on connecting with communities of practice. She writes widely on public management, accountability, and transparency issues and publishes extensively in academic journals and edited volumes.
