Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate

The four-course (12-credit) Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate program offered by Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) is designed to give students the tools to help organizations (including public and nonprofit organizations) successfully navigate the challenges and opportunities associated with an increasingly diverse workforce.

Rutgers SPAA has partnered with SMLR so that graduate students may count up to two of SPAA's MPA courses toward this certificate.

Students in this four-course certificate program must take the following SMLR course:

  • Employment Law (3)

And choose one of three broad SMLR classes about diversity:

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the HR Professional (3)
  • Identity and Discrimination at Work and in the US Labor Market (3)
  • The Inclusive Workplace (3)

Students can then count the following two SPAA graduate courses toward completing the certificate:

  • Human Resources Management (3)
  • Leadership and Diversity (3)

For SPAA course descriptions see Courses.
For course schedules, see Rutgers University Schedule of Classes.
