NextGen Leadership Academy at Rutgers SPAA
What is the Next Generation Leadership Academy?
Launched in Fall 2025, the Next Generation Leadership Academy (also known as NextGen Leadership) is a multi-year program for RU-N undergraduate students from all majors to become the next generation of public leaders. A proven approach that is used across the country, students gain the knowledge and skills they will need to tackle society’s biggest challenges in their future career fields.
RU-N’s NextGen Leadership is one of over 28 programs nationwide that form part of the Volcker Alliance’s Next Generation Service Corps, a ground-breaking initiative that draws diverse, talented young people into public service. The NextGen Service Corps benefits students nationwide by opening the door to new career pathways in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors and by training students to take a cross-sector collaborative approach to community problem-solving.
Why Should You Join the Academy?
Whether working in the public, private, or non-profit sector, we need public leaders who can work across organizations and disciplines to make lasting, meaningful change.
