Public Sector Labor-Management Relations Certificate

The four-course (12-credit) Public Sector Labor-Management Relations Certificate program offered by Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) helps students develop a broad perspective on public sector labor-management relations issues – involving teachers, Rutgers university employees, police officers, and other public employees.

Rutgers SPAA has partnered with SMLR so that graduate students may count up to two of SPAA's MPA courses toward this certificate.

Students in this certificate program must take at least two courses through SMLR. One of those courses must be either:

  • Public Sector Employment Issues (3) OR Public Sector Collective Bargaining (3)

Students can then take up to two of the following SPAA graduate courses:

  • Human Resources Management (3)
  • Labor-Management Relations in the Public Sector (3)
  • Managing Public Organizations (3)

For SPAA course descriptions see Courses.
For course schedules, see Rutgers University Schedule of Classes.

For more information on the Public Sector Labor-Management Relations Certificate, see SMLR.
