Careers in Public Administration

The government sector consists of nearly 90,000 federal, state, and local governments in the U.S. that provide a range of critical public programs and services. The nonprofit sector is made up of over 1.5 million not-for-profit and non-governmental organizations in the U.S. that focus on human services, health, education, the arts and culture, and other issues. In addition, many of the millions of for-profit businesses in the U.S. perform important work for government (under contracts) or need experts in public affairs to manage their complex relations with government.
